Educational Awards Winners

Congratulations to all of the winners of the 2025-2026 Voice of Democracy and Patriots Pen programs! Voice of Democracy Winner- Marjorie Leary (Portsmouth H.S.)-Post 237- Marjorie placed 13th in the National VOD Competition! Patriots Pen- Rayhan Luwaga (Birchwood M.S. N.Prov)- Post 306. Rayhan placed 10th in the National PP Competition!

Committee Volunteers Needed

Department is looking for volunteers to serve on the following committees: Legislative (Dist. 1 & Dist. 3 reps), Credentials (D1 rep), Awards (D1, D2, and 2 more members), Ways and Means (D1, D2, D3), and Convention (3 members). All of these committees need to begin their work ASAP, so please contact Department HQ to help. adj@vfwri.org

VFWRI and AUX Department Convention

The annual Department Convention will be held at VFW Post 5392, Tiverton, on June 19th and 20th. The awards dinner will be held on Friday the 19th beginning at 5pm. The business sessions will begin Saturday after an 8am breakfast and 9am Joint Opening and Memorial Service. Lunch will also be served. Nominations and Elections for Department Officers will take place at this Convention. Dinner info to follow.
