WELCOME TO DEPARTMENT OF RHODE ISLAND

One Capital Hill Providence RI. 02908

As yesterday's defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today's military service members into our ranks to become part of our elite group. Our common bond is the battlefield, whether it is service in the Persian Gulf, Korea, Kosovo, the war on terrorism or peace-keeping expeditionary campaigns. Your courage and sacrifice have made a difference in preserving and defending world peace.

Commander Rachael Garcia

Comrades of the VFW-Department of Rhode Island,

Congratulations to this year’s Post, District and State Officers on your elections and appointments. I am honored to serve as your State Commander this year!

My slogan, "Lead with Valor, Inspire with Courage, is not just a slogan, but a guiding principle that defines our unwavering commitment to veterans, service members, and their families. In the face of adversity, we believe true leaders emerge, embodying strength and determination.

With valor as our guiding light, we lead by example, demonstrating unwavering bravery and resilience in the face of challenges. Through our actions, we ignite the flames of courage within those we serve, empowering them to rise above their difficulties and reach new heights. Together, we forge a path of unwavering determination, reminding each other that strength is not only found in the heat of battle but also in the steadfast support we provide. Let us remember that leadership and inspiration are intertwined, working hand in hand.

Through our united efforts, we strive to create a world where our heroes and their families thrive. "Lead with Valor, Inspire with Courage is not just a creed, but the fuel that drives our hearts and propels us forward on this impactful mission.

We have a lot of work to do this year and I look forward to your expertise and passion as we continue the traditions of the VFW while evolving to better meet the needs of our veteran and military community.

Let’s get back to basics and continue moving our organization forward.
